DEKALB FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO STRUCTURE FIRE ON PETTY ROAD

Monday evening at approximately 5:12 p.m. DeKalb County Fire Department was dispatched to a fully involved residential fire on Petty Road in the Midway area.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire venting out the roof with a pickup truck parked near the front of the home. Water supply was established and fire attack crews were able to successfully protect the truck, although the structure was a complete loss. No one was home at the time of the incident and reportedly the occupants had been out of town for about a month. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
DeKalb County Fire Department’s Main, Midway, Four Seasons, and Johnson’s Chapel stations, along with personnel from other stations and both tankers responded to the fire. DeKalb County Emergency Medical Services and DeKalb Sheriff’s Department also assisted at the scene.
