FATAL HOUSE FIRE IN MONROE COUNTY AND VEHICLE ACCIDENT INVOLVING DETECTIVE
From Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones:
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential fire at 435 Crowder Road in Madisonville earlier today, along with multiple fire departments and law enforcement agencies. The call came in around 4:00 p.m.
After the fire was extinguished, responders discovered that one adult male had perished in the incident. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) State Bomb and Arson Division is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
As units were clearing the scene, a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office detective was involved in a two-vehicle accident on US-411. The detective was transported to UT Medical Center for evaluation. The condition of the other individual involved in the crash is currently unknown. The Madisonville Police Department is investigating the accident.
Our thoughts are with our detective and the other person involved in the crash, and we are praying for their recovery. We also extend our deepest condolences to the family of the individual who lost their life in today’s fire.
