NASAL SPRAY BRAND RECALLED FOR YEAST, MOLD, AND BACTERIA CONTAMINATION
MediNatura New Mexico, Inc. has voluntarily expanded a nationwide recall of all lots of its over-the-counter homeopathic ReBoost Nasal Spray and ClearLife Allergy Nasal Spray due to microbial contamination.
The ReBoost product was found to contain yeast, mold, and elevated levels of the bacteria Achromobacter, while the ClearLife spray is being recalled as a precaution due to potential linked contamination. Both products, sold in 20 mL bottles with expiration dates ranging from December 2022 to December 2025, are used to temporarily relieve symptoms such as nasal congestion, sinus issues, sneezing, runny nose, and allergy-related discomfort (ReBoost: NDC 62795-4005-9, UPC 787647 10186 3; ClearLife: NDC 62795-4006-9, UPC 787647 10188 7).
Use of these sprays poses a risk of adverse health effects, including potentially life-threatening infections, particularly in immunocompromised individuals. No illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers should immediately stop using the products, return them to the place of purchase for a refund, and report any adverse reactions to the FDA’s MedWatch program.
