Donna Vineyard Graves, 84
Donna Vineyard Graves passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15. She was born on March 3, 1941, and spent most of her life in the Spring City-Decatur area, where she retired after many years with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
She was preceded in death by her parents, F.P. and Becky McPhail Vineyard; her brother, Curtis Vineyard; her husband, Haul Graves; and her stepson, Earl Graves.
Donna is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Vineyard, niece, Becky (Vineyard) Carpenter and her husband David, great-nieces, Ansley and Sarah Kate; her stepdaughter, Patty Graves Melton and husband Jackie; and her close, special friends, Nancy Henley and Jessie Read.
Donna was quick with a joke and never met a stranger. She loved animals-especially her beloved Quinn-along with sports (most notably the Atlanta Braves), gardening, chocolate, and Diet Coke. A talented crafter, Donna leaves behind Christmas ornaments, baby blankets, quilts, and cross stitch, each lovingly made and filled with memories that will live on through her family and friends.
As she requested, there will be no service. Instead, the family asks that you honor Donna by sharing a funny story, planting some flowers, rescuing a dog, and enjoying a Diet Coke in her memory.
Donna was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church in Decatur. Donations may be made in her memory to the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Morning Pointe of Athens and Hospice of Chattanooga for their loving care and compassion.
Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the Graves family.
