Pikeville, TN – The Sequatchie Valley Mutual Aid Association has announced the selection of Pikeville Fire Department Chief Garrett Angel as its new President. Chief Angel succeeds longtime Association President Paul Swafford, who has led the organization since 2003.

The Sequatchie Valley Mutual Aid Association is comprised of nine fire departments across Bledsoe, Sequatchie, and Marion counties. The Association convenes biannually to share information and coordinate planning among member departments.

The Association’s mission is to ensure that fire departments in the valley can effectively respond to large-scale emergencies and disasters. By pooling personnel, equipment, and supplies, the organization provides critical support when a single department’s resources are insufficient, enhancing protection of life and property throughout the region.
