Ed LaRue, 78
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ed LaRue of Banner-Roslin, who passed away at his home on January 20th, 2026 at the age of 78.
He was born November 4, 1947. Son of the late George Estel and Anna Fern Brazeal LaRue.
Ed proudly served in the United States Army for 2 years; from 1967-1969, upon being drafted at just 19 years old. A year of that time in active combat in Vietnam.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister Estella Leach as well as brothers Bill, Harold, and Roger “Blue” LaRue.
He is survived by sister Louise Smith, life long love Sherry Ramsey, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Ed had a quick wit, a generous heart. He was known for his unwavering dedication to those he loved; with a big heart for those in need.
Like all humans Ed made miss steps along the way.
We’d like to think that Ed would caution everyone on the importance of taking care of yourself, making good choices, making good friends, and living life to its fullest every single day.
A memorial with full Military Honors for Ed LaRue will be held at a later date.
Jennings Funeral Homes of Jamestown was in charge of the cremation for Ed LaRue of Banner-Roslin.
