KNOXVILLE MAN ARRESTED ON CHILD SEX ABUSE MATERIAL CHARGES
From Knoxville Police Department:
Knoxville Police Department Special Crimes Unit detectives arrested 64-year-old Thad Milam on Tuesday, January 27 after receiving information that he was in possession of child sex abuse material.
The investigation began when a woman reported that she met Milam on an online dating app and that he had texted her a video of a man having sex with an underage female. Milam also reportedly verified that he was engaging in sexual relations with underage girls.
Following continued investigation, Special Crimes detectives conducted a knock-and-talk at Milam’s home on N. Forest Road. While detectives were on scene interacting with Milam, he attempted to delete text messages from his phone, which was then confiscated by detectives.
During questioning, Milam admitted to sending the video that was initially reported as well as possessing “hundreds” of child sex abuse images and videos.
Milam was initially charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and tampering with evidence. Additional charges are expected pending further investigation.
