Mr. Ronnie Dean Henley, age 79 of Oliver Springs, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.  Ronnie served our country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He was a deacon at Orchard View Baptist Church and a member of East Fork Lodge #460.  He was very involved in the annual Shriner’s Paper sale for 30 years. Ronnie had backpacked over half of the Appalachian Trail with close friends. He loved to travel with good friends, Elaine and Malcom Johnson.  He was known as “Papaw” to his grandchildren that he loved dearly. He was very involved with “Disaster Relief” in Florida and North Carolina and other locations. He also was on the Rebuild Team that built handicapped ramps.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. and Lena Henley; Sister and Brother-in-law, Helen and Huey Cooley; Murel Hicks; Niece Renea Stringfield; Great-Nephew, Heath Long.

He survives by his wife of 54 years, Janice Henley; sons Jason (Marlie) Henley and Nicholas (Crystal) Henley, brother-in-law Hollis (Judy) Hicks; sisters-in-law Dot Hicks and Marsha (Jack) Whaley.

Grandchildren, Hannah and Megan Henley and Faith Henley.

Sister, Kathy (Gary) Trammell; Brothers, Jimmy (Janice) Henley and Kendall (Willie) Henley.

And several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm at Beech Park Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Brother Roy Langley officiating. Burial will be on Monday, February 2, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm in Anderson Memorial Gardens.
