BOIL WATER ADVISORY ISSUED FOR OVERTON COUNTY

Posted by Overton/Pickett E-911:
There is a current mandate to boil water before use, effective until further notice. Currently portions of Overton county are without water, other areas of the county may have water for an extended period but inevitably until the leak is found and repaired water will run out.
For drinking, cooking, or brushing your teeth, use boiled or bottled water. Strain the water then bring to a Boil for at least 3 minutes and allow to cool before use. Check local news outlets or the city of Livingston or 911 Face Book Page for updates and further information.
Potable Water Distribution sites are being established for residents in your community without water. More information as to location, and times to receive potable water will be on local media, and social media sites, 911 Facebook. These water distribution sites will be established within the next 3 hours.
Potable Water – is water that still needs to be boiled for human consumption, but can be used for bathing, toilets and the like without boiling.
Please remember to TURN OFF your water heaters to prevent damage when water runs out.
