Funeral Services for Jerry Norrod, age 74, of the Green Pond Community, will be conducted on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Bro. Richard Harris will officiate with interment to follow in the F. A. Norrod Cemetery. Mr. Norrod was born on Thursday, December 27, 1951, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Ted and Carlene Bowman Norrod. Mr. Norrod passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at his home. Mr. Norrod was a heavy equipment operator living in Alabama for several years and helped to construct and build Interstate 59 into Birmingham. He cleared, graded, and leveled land in various other locations to help construct multiple roads and highways. After working in construction, he worked for several years and retired from Perdue in Monterey. He loved country music and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Norrod; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Ann and Coy South of the Green Pond Community, Debby and Wesley Jarrett of the Green Pond Community; brother, Randy Norrod of the Green Pond Community; niece/caregiver, Jenny and Jody Reed of the Hanging Limb Community; his “chosen grandchildren,” Rebecca Reed (Chloe Harris-Reed), Isabella Reed, and Wade Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherron Smith Norrod; brothers, Roger Dale Norrd, and infant, Teddy Joe Norrod.
