Charles Farris Dye Sr, 83
Charles Farris Dye Sr, 83 of Grandview, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord at his residence Saturday. February 7, 2026. He was the son of the late Farris and Cora Loy Dye. Charles was a graduate of Spring City High School “Class of 1961”. He worked for Shipley’s Grocery Store for several years before opening his own store, Dye’s Grocery, on Grandview. Charles ran his store for many years before becoming a Rural Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service. Heretired in 2007 after 42 years of service. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising cattle. He also loved to garden and come to Spring City and sell his produce. But, his favorite activity was rocking his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charles helped to organize the Grandview Fire Dept., along with the late Johnnie Lemons. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served as an ordained Deacon.
Charles was also preceded in death by his sister Nancy Waldo and his grandson Bryson Dye.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Betty Ruth Monday Dye of Grandview, his children Charles “Chuck” (Susan) Dye Jr. of Dawsonville, Georgia, Randall (Tammie) Dye of Crossville, Tim (Bethany) Dye of Grandview, Rebecca (Cecil) Bristow of Crossville, Barbara (Jamie) Williams of Spring City and Terry (Karen) Dye of Grandview, his sister Ima Joyce (Alfred) Gilliam, of Grandview, his grandchildren Stephanie Downs, Brandon Dye, Taylor Dye, Nathaniel Bristow, Brittany Bristow, Joshua Dye, Justin Dye, Zachary Dye, Thomas Poole, Hannah Aikman, Brian Poole, Mason Dye, Karson Dye and Katy Dye and 14 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, February 8, 2026 at 4pm in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home. Thefamily will receive friends Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 2 to 4 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
