Ruth Lydia Hughes, age 95, was born to Edward Eugene and Pearl E Sapp Mifflin on June 30, 1930 in Crossville, TN and passed away in her home with her loving family around her on February 6, 2026 in Crossville, TN. She was a devoted mother and wife and enjoyed crafting like crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Ruth is survived by 13 children- Hubert Hughes Jr., James Edward Hughes, Yvonne Carol Klingberg, Debra Dickenson, Vernon Hughes, Valerie Lee, Bobby Hughes, Elvie Barnett, Linda Young, Donna Sparks, Vera Rainwater, Mandi Roark, and Danielle Hankins; 25 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hubert E. Hughes, children- Janet Days, Larry Hughes, and Larry Vernon Hughes, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four geat great grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 6, 2026, from 12 to 2 with service to follow.Burial will be in Pomona Cemetery with Jeffy Durham officiating.
