TWO INDICTED ON 2ND-DEGREE MURDER CHARGES FOR 2024 OVERDOSE DEATH IN KNOXVILLE
Jasmine Thomas, aged 32, and Corey Etheredge, aged 39, have been indicted on second-degree murder charges in connection with the overdose death of a 35-year-old woman at a motel on East Magnolia Avenue in Knoxville in December 2024. The charges arose from an investigation by the Drug-Related Death Task Force. In addition to the murder counts, both individuals face charges of sale and delivery of fentanyl as well as criminal conspiracy to distribute fentanyl in a school zone.
Thomas received further indictments for possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, maintaining a dwelling for drug use, and tampering with evidence.
The Organized Crime Unit’s investigation also identified three other individuals involved in fentanyl trafficking in the area: Lorenzo Hatcher, 32, charged with sale and delivery of fentanyl and criminal conspiracy to distribute fentanyl in a school zone; Tiffany Thomas, 31, indicted on criminal conspiracy and maintaining a dwelling for drug use; and Adarius Redmond, 22, charged with criminal conspiracy to distribute fentanyl in a school zone. All five suspects have been taken into custody.
