(Developing Story) – A pedestrian was struck today by a vehicle at Clearwater Road and Congress Parkway in Athens.

The police department stated the victim was transported to an area trauma center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.

Police are still investigating, but do not expect any criminal charges to be filed.

The names of the driver and victim were not initially released.
