Following the Tennessee House of Representatives’ lead, the state senate passed a bill requiring public schools to display the Ten Commandments with two other major pieces of United States history.

If signed by the governor, State Bill 0303 would require all public school boards in the state to “allow schools in the local education agency (LEA) and public charter schools to display the Ten Commandments, specific sections of the Declaration of Independence, and the United States Constitution.”

The “specific sections” referred to in the bill are “the first sentence of the second paragraph of the preamble to the Declaration of Independence, and the preamble to the United States Constitution.”

As for the Ten Commandments, all ten must be in full view.
