KENTUCKY AUTHORITIES HUNT ARMED LENOIR CITY MAN AFTER SHOOTING AND ASSAULT
Authorities in Madison County, Kentucky, are searching for Christopher Morphis, a 38-year-old man from Lenoir City, Tennessee, who is considered armed and dangerous following a shooting and assault late on March 27, 2026. Deputies responded to a report around 10:00 PM on Kentucky River Road, where they found two female victims.
One sustained a gunshot wound to the leg along with head injuries from an assault, while the second reported being threatened with a firearm. Morphis fled the scene in a Chevrolet Astro van, which was later discovered abandoned on Carver’s Ferry Road with two flat tires, leading authorities to believe he continued on foot.
Extensive searches involving K-9 units and police drones failed to locate him, even after a Ring camera captured footage of a male running along Kentucky River Road shortly after midnight. Arrest warrants have been issued, and officials urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact 911 immediately without attempting to approach the suspect.
The investigation remains active.
