TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO LARGE METH SEIZURE IN PUTNAM COUNTY
On Wednesday evening, May 6, 2026, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office deputies pulled over a white Nissan Sedan on Interstate 40 for failure to maintain lane and illegal window tint. Upon contacting the driver, deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana, and K9 Tuco conducted an open-air sniff, alerting positively to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered approximately two pounds of methamphetamine along with $3,066 in U.S. currency.
Both occupants, Tynerick Dewon Turner of Nashville, TN, and Arhson Dejun Jackson of Madison, TN, were arrested and transported to the Putnam County Jail. Each man faces charges of Manufacture, Delivery, and Sale of Methamphetamine, with bonds set at $55,000. Turner’s court date is June 8, 2026, while Jackson’s is June 6, 2026. Sheriff Farris emphasized that Interstate 40 serves as a drug pipeline from larger cities like Nashville and vowed that deputies will continue proactive enforcement to keep illegal narcotics out of Putnam County.
