Charlotte Reba Farmer, 103
Charlotte Reba Farmer, 103, of Rockwood, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Signature HealthCARE of Rockwood. She was just weeks shy of her 104th birthday.
Born June 18, 1922, in Crossville, Tennessee, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Ernest Cleveland (“E.C.”) Farmer and Flora Jane (Simpson) Farmer. Her life spanned more than a century of change, from the early days of the Cumberland Plateau through the present, and she carried with her the strength, grace, and quiet dignity of her East Tennessee roots.
Charlotte built her career as a secretary at the Burlington Hosiery Mill in Rockwood, where she was known for her dependability, her attention to detail, and the warmth she brought to her coworkers over many years of service.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Cleveland and Flora Jane (Simpson) Farmer; her sisters, Ellen Adkisson, Roselee Rayburn, Ernestine Creech, Maddie Campbell, Marjorie Green, and Dorothy Adams; her brothers, Charles Aaron Farmer and E.C. Farmer, Jr.; and her cherished, lifelong friend, Priscilla Jean (“PJ”) Teague, whose companionship was one of the great blessings of her life.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and by many dear friends who counted her among their own.
Evans Mortuary, Rockwood is in charge of all arrangements for her interment.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff of Signature HealthCARE of Rockwood for the compassionate care they provided to Charlotte in her final years.
