Cynthia Rutledge Hatton, 72

Cynthia Rutledge Hatton, 1954 – 2026

Cynthia Rutledge Hatton, 72, of Ten Mile, TN, died May 9, 2026 at Covenant Health Hospital in Harriman, TN. The family issues a special thanks to the nurses and staff for their kindness and care in her final days battling pneumonia.

She was born in Harrisonburg, Louisiana on March 4, 1954 to Charles Nash Rutledge and Annis Cloteal Hardy Rutledge and was affectionately known as “Little Cindy” to her many loving Aunts and Uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father Charles, and is survived by her husband of 44 years, Wiggins R. Hatton, III, as well as her son Christopher Hatton (Destiny), daughters Rachal Hatton-Moore (Jonathan) and Becky Hatton (Lynn), puppy Suzy Q, grandson Travis Sermons, granddaughter Brittney “Boo” Hatton (Steve McCarthy), great-granddaughter River McCarthy, mother Annis Cloteal “Teal” Rutledge, brothers Charles Wayne “Booger” Rutledge (Connie), Horace Nash “Chuck” Rutledge (Kathy), Marion “Nank” Rutledge (Michelle), and beloved nephew Charles Eric Rutledge, who called her Ninny and then everyone else followed thereafter.

Ninny was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen, heard, and appreciated, while also being a pistol who had a deep sense of justice and righteous indignation. She was one tough lady, a hell of a woman, and beloved by all. Even in her final days, she made an effort to crack a joke with the nurses to lighten their day.

She will be cremated and her family is observing a private ceremony at home at her request.

Ninny had a longstanding support of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and donations to DPIL would be greatly appreciated. https://imaginationlibrary.com/ Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston is serving the Hatton Family.
