Regional Forecast — Cumberland Plateau & Tennessee Valley
Warm and increasingly breezy weather will continue through Wednesday before a strong round of showers and thunderstorms arrives Thursday into Juneteenth. Cooler and drier air is expected to move in for next weekend.
Tuesday: Partly to mostly sunny. Highs around 79 on the Cumberland Plateau and 81 in the Tennessee Valley. Light southwest winds.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy with patchy fog possible across portions of the Plateau. Lows around 59 to 62.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, warm, and breezy. Highs around 84 on the Plateau and 87 in the Valley. South to southwest winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy and mild. Lows around 70 to 72. South winds may gust as high as 25 mph. A few showers may develop late, especially in the Valley.
Thursday: Showers likely in the morning, becoming widespread with thunderstorms during the afternoon. Highs around 82 on the Plateau and 86 in the Valley. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.
Thursday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Lows around 65 on the Plateau and 67 in the Valley. Chance of rain 80 percent.
Juneteenth (Friday): Showers and thunderstorms likely, especially during the morning and early afternoon, followed by gradual improvement later in the day. Highs around 78 on the Plateau and 81 in the Valley. Chance of rain 70 percent.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy and cooler. Lows around 57 on the Plateau and 60 in the Valley. A lingering shower is possible early in the Valley.
Saturday: Sunny and pleasant. Highs around 81 on the Plateau and 84 in the Valley.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear. Lows around 60 on the Plateau and 62 in the Valley.
