Judy Cox, 78

Judy Cox 78 of Hixson, Tennessee; formerly of Grandview, Tennessee passed away peacefully Friday June 19, 2026 at Soloman’s House in Red Bank, Tennessee after an extended illness. Judy was born February 4, 1948 to the late Lester and Susie Edwards Reed. She attended Spring City High School and later attended Chattanooga State where she received an Associates Arts degree. She worked at Cutter Lab in Chattanooga for 14 years and continued her working career at TVA- Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, where she worked as a scheduler. Judy retired after 20 years. She loved to arrange flowers, sew and bake desserts, but her favorite hobby was walking; which she did on a daily basis. Judy was a member of the Ministry Conference Church in Hixson.

Judy is also preceded in death by her brothers Leroy Reed and Delbert Reed and her sister Lavern Stewart.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years Eddie Reed of Hixson, her daughter Star (Bryan) Affolter of Ooltewah, Tennessee, her brothers Kenneth (Linda) Reed of Spring City and Titus Reed of Crossville and her sister Brenda (Rick) Thomas of Dayton, her granddaughter Taylor (Tyler) Hamblen-Falk and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Sunday, June 21, 2026 in the Spring City Memorial Gardens at 3:00pm with Rev. Phillip Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughn Funeral Home Sunday, June 21, 2026 from 1 to 3p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Teen Challenge, 1108 W. 33rd Street, Chattanooga, TN 37410 or to St Jude’s Children’s Research Center, Memphis, TN.
