George Donald LeMay, Sr., age 82 of Dayton, passed away at his home on Monday, June 22, 2026. He was born in Shelton, CT, on July 7, 1942, the son of the late Jeremiah LeMay. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pheobe Ann (Haynes) LeMay; his brother, Jerry LeMay; his sister, June Bills; his stepchildren, David Paul Stoughton, Jannet Stoughton, and Patricia Stoughton.

George had lived in Dayton since October of 2025, but he was a long-time resident of Vermont before that. He worked as a truck driver, hauling logs and operating a dump truck. He loved working on anything mechanical and could fix just about anything.

He is survived by his daughter, June LeMay-Booker of VT; his son, George LeMay, Jr. of Dayton; two children he raised as his own, Joslin LeMay of ND, and Jessica LeMay of VT; and his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He will be laid to rest in the family plot in Vermont.
