Funeral Services for Donald Emery Richardson, age 70, of Adrian, Georgia, will be conducted on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Goff Funeral Home.

Bro. Wayne Blaylock will officiate with interment to follow in the Stamps Cemetery.

Don passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Adrian, Georgia

Don was born on Wednesday, February 1, 1956, in Cookeville, Tennessee, to the late Claudie Lee Richardson and Wilberta “Ruth” Blaylock Richardson of Cookeville, Tennessee.

Don will be remembered for his love of learning, his gift for storytelling, and the joy he brought to those around him. He loved to read and had an incredible ability to remember facts concerning just about anything, especially history. He enjoyed sharing what he knew, telling a good story, laughing, and making others laugh. He had a deep love for music and found joy in singing, playing the guitar, and writing songs.

Above all, Don was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who deeply loved his family. He treasured time with those he loved and leaves behind many memories that will be held close by his friends and family. He was also a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team.

Throughout his life, Don served in many different roles, including pastor, music minister, newspaper editor, and radio disc jockey. In each season of life, he used his voice, his talents, and his heart to connect with people and make a lasting impact on those around him.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Richardson; his siblings, Connie (Joel) Lauckner and Lana Richardson; his children, Tod Richardson, Ruth Scaggs, and Donna (Jeremy) Knight; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 12:00 PM until time of services at 2:00 PM.
