Funeral Services for Zona Abston, age 86, of the Cravenstown Community, will be conducted on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Greg Jenkins will officiate with interment to follow in the Abston Cemetery. Mrs. Abston was born on Monday, August 14, 1939, in Fentress County, Tennessee, to the late Dewey and Velva Winningham Threet. Mrs. Abston passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at her home. Mrs. Abston was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved gardening and was known for her green thumb. She loved feeding people and having her neighbors drink their morning coffee at her home. Her home was always open with a generous heart to share her time, food, and hospitality. She was a devoted Christian, a member of Cravenstown Baptist Church, and served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Abston of the Cravenstown Community; son, Eddie Ray Abston of the Cravenstown Community; grandchildren, Cody (Jaylen) Cravens, Hailey Cravens, Collin Abston, Austin Abston, and Ethan Wilson; great grandson, Colsen Cravens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ray “Cotton” Abston; siblings, Faye Campbell, Charlene Hayes, Harold Cooper, J.C. Threet, Joyce Gates, Rillie Hayes, Frances Winningham, Auda Jane Hahn, and Robert “Doug” Threet.
