Voters across Tennessee have one final day to cast their early ballots before polls close tomorrow ahead of the Thursday, August 6 State and Federal Primary and State and County General Election. Early voting, which kicked off on Friday, July 17, has already drawn thousands of residents to the polls to weigh in on federal, state, county, and municipal races.

While May’s Republican primary settled several local contests in Cumberland, Roane, and surrounding counties—leaving some candidates running unopposed—voters still face crucial decisions for local seats, including key positions on County Commissions and City Councils.

At the top of the ballot, national and statewide attention is focused on a high-profile, three-way primary for the Republican gubernatorial nomination. The marquee contest features Roane County resident Monty Fritz, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, and U.S. Congressman John Rose.

The winner of the August 6 primary will secure the GOP nomination and advance to face the Democratic nominee in the November General Election.
