Cumberland County Schools has released its official district calendar for the current school year, outlining key dates, holidays, teacher in-service days, and scheduled breaks for local students and staff.

Kickoff and Early August Schedule

Staff and educators officially initiate the year with Convocation Day on August 3, followed by an Administrative Day on August 4.

• August 5: Registration Day, featuring an abbreviated schedule with a 10:00 a.m. early release.

• August 6: Administrative Day (no students).

• August 7: First full day of classes for all students.

Major Holidays and Extended Breaks

Families planning ahead can expect several extended breaks and single-day holidays throughout the academic term:

• Labor Day: September 7

• Fall Break: October 12–16

• Thanksgiving Break: November 25–27

• Winter Break: December 21 – January 1 (Note: December 18 will be an abbreviated day with a 10:00 a.m. release)

• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: January 18

• Presidents Day: February 15

• Spring Break: March 15–19

• Good Friday: March 26

Faculty In-Service & Administrative Days

To support teacher development and administrative tasks, students will have no school on the following designated professional days:

• Teacher In-Service: September 25, January 4, and March 29

• Administrative Days: January 5 and May 27

Wrapping Up the Academic Year

Following Winter Break, students return to classes on January 6. The school year concludes in late May:

• May 28: Final day for students, ending with a 10:00 a.m. early release.

• May 31: District observance of Memorial Day.
