Edna E. “Susie” Strunk 97 of Spring City passed away Friday July 31, 2026 at the Rhea County Medical Center in Dayton, TN. Born on November 2, 1928 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James Earl and Dollie Fryer Brown. Susie graduated from Red Bank High School, The University of Chattanooga and the University of Miami. She was a certified public accountant and owned and operated her own business for many years. She was an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs. Susie enjoyed working in her yard; growing flowers and plants. She enjoyed playing Bridge with friends and living on Watts Bar Lake. Susie was a member of the Spring City Methodist Church.

Susie was also preceded in death by her first husband Phillip Burroughs, her second husband William Robert “Bob” Strunk and her son Phil Burroughs.

Survivors include her granddaughters BrittanyBurroughs-Miller of Dawsonville, Georgia and Elizabeth Ann Camp of Hoschton, Georgia, her daughter in law Shelley Burroughs of Lawrenceville, Georgia and her great grandson Joseph Daniel Miller.

Funeral services for Susie will be at 12 noon Wednesday August 5, 2026 in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Grant officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. A private burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, Tennessee where she will be laid to rest with her 1st husband Phillip Burroughs and her son Phil.
