Funeral Services for Alice Lee Key, age 89, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. David Harris will officiate with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Key was born on Thursday, January 7, 1937, in the Muddy Pond Community of Overton County, Tennessee, to the late Gardner and Erma Lee Norrod Phillips. Mrs. Key passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at her home. Alice was a seamstress working the majority of her career at Eli Walker and Appalachian. In her spare time, Alice loved to spend time with her family, gardening, sewing, cross stitching, any kind of needlepoint, and cooking. She was a member of Muddy Pond Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lee Welch of Monterey, TN; 2 grandchildren, Crystal (and Chad) Harris, Jeffery (and Jordan) Welch; 3 great grandchildren, Mason, Matthew, and Shea Lee Harris; 2 brothers, Danny Phillips and Carl (Evelyn) Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dearly beloved husband of almost 66 years, Casto Key, Jr.; son, Randall Key; son-in-law, Jerry Welch; brothers, Earl and Mitchell Phillips; and sister, Velma Phillips.
