Gary Wayne (Mack) McBee, was born on July 7, 1954, in Oak Ridge, TN. He passed away on July 26, 2026 at his home with his wife and close friend Beverly at hand after a long struggle with cancer. He was 72 years old.

Gary is preceded in death by his mother Bobby Nell McBee and father Thurman McBee.

He is survived by his wife Angela McBee, son Christopher McBee, daughter Kim Manuele (Matt), grandchildren Ella, Madison, and Lilly, brothers Darell and Mark McBee. Gary had two nieces and one nephew.

Gary spoke fondly of his cousins, aunts, uncles and friends while also reminiscing about days on his grandparent’s farm with his brothers. He joined the Army after high school and graduated with an Honorable Discharge on July 4th, 1979. Gary also received a Certificate of Achievement from the 25th Infantry Division Commanding General at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He was extremely proud of his military service. After leaving the service he worked at the City of Oak Ridge and then went on to work at X-10 for over 25 years. Gary loved his family deeply and loved being outdoors, collecting fossils, fishing, gardening, and was an avid reader. Gary was quick witted and had quite the sense of humor. He will be sorely, deeply and forever missed.
