With a peaceful heart and a life well lived, Della “Bernice” Goodman, age 81, stepped through heaven’s gates and into eternal rest. She leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and countless lives along the way.

Della Bernice Goodman is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years and the love of her life,  Kenneth Lee Goodman. She is also preceded in death by her parents Heiskell and Magnolia Carroll Lowe and siblings Helen Louise Lowe, Ella Mae Pike, Jolly Joe Lowe, and Bobby Lowe.

She is survived by her three children: Jeffery Lee Goodman (wife Tammy), Lisa Kay Goodman, Loretta Lynn Webber (husband David). Six grandchildren: Ryan Edward Jones (wife Jana), Kenneth Tyler Goodman, Leah Marie Jones, Felicia Brooke Stroup (husband Cody), Bethany Renee Goodman (fiancé Austin), Branden Robert Lee Goodman (Mara) and blessed with 7 Great Grandchildren, Keagen Lloyd Barnett, Raylan Otto Blaes, Jackson Tate Stroup, Kynzlee Renee Barnett, Nolan Maddox Stroup,  Kinsley Blair Stroup, Rylan Clementine Jones.

She survived by sisters Ellen Marie Goodman, Janice Spurling and Nellie Powell; brother Billy Ray Lowe.

Bernice spent the last 10 years living with her son Jeff and wife Tammy, in Lancing, where she enjoyed working in her flower beds, garden and weed eating, but most of all mowing the yard before Jeff could mow it. Mom loved going to church with Jeff and her family on Sunday and loved her church family. Spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids was the highlight of most of her days. She leaves one wish to her family (“Make sure you live your lives for the Lord and be ready to go when he makes that final call one day”).

The family wants to extend a very special Thank You to Amedisys Home Health Care and Hospice Care for taking care of our Mom. Special Thanks to Trish IPock, Kellie Evans and David Kutchey for taking such great care of our Mom during her time of need. To everyone who called, came by, brought food and prayed for us during this time, Thank You So Very Much! We all greatly appreciate your Kindness. Please continue to keep us in your prayers in the coming days and weeks ahead. Most of all Thanks to Schubert Funeral Home for taking such great care of Mom and our Family during this difficult time.

Family will receive friends Sunday,  August 16, 2026, from 11am to 1pm at Schubert Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1pm with Bro. Gary Armes officiating. Interment will follow in the Phillips Cemetery, Devonia, TN.
