SUNSHINE STARTS THE WEEK BEFORE STORM CHANCES RETURN

Monday and Tuesday will bring a quiet, mostly dry start to the week across the Cumberland Plateau and Tennessee Valley, with plenty of sunshine. Highs Monday will reach the lower 80s on the Cumberland Plateau and middle 80s in the Tennessee Valley, followed by a slightly warmer Tuesday with middle 80s on the plateau and upper 80s in the valley. Nights will be comfortable, with lows ranging from the upper 50s to lower 60s early in the week. The pattern becomes a little more unsettled Wednesday as scattered showers and thunderstorms become possible during the afternoon. Rain and storm chances increase Thursday, especially in the Tennessee Valley, where the chance reaches 50 percent. The Cumberland Plateau has a 40 percent chance. A few showers or thunderstorms could linger into Friday, but rain chances drop to 20 percent across both regions. Temperatures won’t change much through the end of the week, with highs generally in the middle 80s on the Cumberland Plateau and upper 80s in the Tennessee Valley.
