Funeral Services for Steve Phillips, age 67, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Bro. Michael Waters and Bro. Elijah Whittaker will officiate with interment to follow in the Whittaker Cemetery. Mr. Phillips was born on Saturday, March 28, 1959, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Harson and Beulah May Murphy Phillips. Steve passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a retired highway maintenance worker with Putnam County Highways. He worked with Willy Rush Sawmill, Buttram’s Building Supply and was owner/operator of Steve’s Small Engine Repair. He was a Jack-of-all-Trades and had the knowledge to fix anything. His most valuable asset was being the Best “Pa”, husband, father, and brother. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy Tosh Phillips; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Torie Phillips; granddaughters, Anna Carol and Hattie Mae, siblings, Shirley Vaughn, Jimmy (Gail) Phillips, Kay Jernigan, and Jackie (Darlene) Phillips; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Johhny Ray Phillips, Bracy Phillips, Beecher Phillips, and Linda Powell; and mother-in-law/father-in-law, Myrtle and Thomas Hargis.
