Tuesday and Wednesday will bring plenty of sunshine across the Cumberland Plateau and Tennessee Valley. Highs Tuesday will reach the middle 80s on the plateau and upper 80s in the valley, followed by a slightly warmer Wednesday. Nights stay mostly clear and comfortable, with lows in the lower to middle 60s on the plateau and middle to upper 60s in the valley.

The pattern begins to change Thursday. Most of the day will still feature sunshine, but showers and thunderstorms become possible during the afternoon. Rain chances increase Thursday night and continue into Friday, which looks like the wettest day of the five-day stretch. Both regions have a 70 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday, with highs in the middle 80s.

Showers and thunderstorms remain possible Saturday, with a 60 percent chance on the Cumberland Plateau and 50 percent in the Tennessee Valley. Despite the rain chances, there should still be some sunshine at times. Temperatures stay fairly steady through the period, generally in the middle 80s on the plateau and upper 80s to around 90 in the valley.
