TEMA LAUNCHES “READYTN CONNECT” TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
The Tennessee Emergency Management Authority (TEMA) has introduced ReadyTN Connect, a statewide initiative designed to link trusted local organizations with official emergency response resources. The program integrates public libraries, faith-based groups, nonprofits, schools, and community centers into a unified network for sharing disaster preparedness, response, and recovery information.
“Preparedness works best when it is built into the places people already know and trust,” said TEMA Commissioner Patrick C. Sheehan, emphasizing the program’s focus on familiar local channels.

Network Partners: Includes public libraries, community centers, cooperatives, nonprofits, youth organizations, and schools.

Core Functions: Distributing verified emergency alerts during crises, sharing preparedness toolkits, and connecting residents to post-disaster recovery aid.

Expanded Framework: Complements existing TEMA initiatives such as ReadyTN Business and ReadyTN Faith, which target commercial entities and houses of worship.
Participating groups receive specialized training, toolkits, and ongoing updates to support staff and community members. Local organizations interested in joining the network can complete a partner interest survey on TEMA’s platform to determine their role in emergency information sharing.
