Chapman Laune “C.L.” Jolley, age 93, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
He was a son of the late Wilbur and Belle Jolley. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He possessed a deep appreciation for the simplicity of life, evident in his love for fishing, hunting, and spending time on the lake. His passion for farming and working with tractors brought him immense joy, as did his time at the sawmill.
A faithful member of the Baptist faith, C.L. cherished the time spent with loved ones, especially during the yearly Jolley family homecoming, where laughter and love abounded.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Deanna Jolley; grandson, Jamison Nelson; several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Jolley; children: Clyde (Janice) Jolley, Norman Jolley, Melinda (Chuck) Nelson, and Tammy (Keith) Holley, Ronnie (Nikki) Clark, Karen Ricker; (14) grandchildren, (19) great-grandchildren, (4) great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. TJ Wattenbarger and the Rev. Kasey Goins officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., prior to the service.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026 in the Meigs County Memorial Gardens.
