Howard Edward (Eddie) Evans, age 69, transitioned to a pain-free life on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in Athens, AL.

Eddie is survived by his son, Jacob (Megan); grandsons, Eli and Ezra; siblings, Carol Ann, Barry (Robin), and Carla Sue (Kevin); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

After high school, (Rockwood c/o 1975) Eddie began his 40 year career with TVA. Thirty (30) of those years were at the Browns Ferry plant in Athens, Alabama. After an initial retirement to spend more time on the golf course, he soon returned to work, joining the Watts Bar Nuclear plant during the Unit 2 start-up.

Through out his career, Eddie built many friendships-both on the job and on the golf course. Known for his love of the game, he never missed an opportunity to play and continuously worked to maintain a near-scratch handicap.

Those who knew Eddie knew him as the life of every room he walked into, and his warmth, humor, and spirit left a mark on everyone lucky enough to share his company.

In keeping with the way he lived, his family asks that you join them to celebrate his life Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Cofer’s Garage, 141 S. Front Street, Rockwood, TN.
