On October 7, deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported domestic assault in the Gore Road area.

According to the incident report, the victim stated they were struck and strangled during the altercation. Responding deputies observed physical injuries that matched the victim’s account.

Authorities located the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Christopher Lee Duff, after he had left the scene. Duff was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. Additionally, officers issued a citation for possession of a prohibited weapon after discovering brass knuckles.

The victim received initial first aid at the scene and was provided with information regarding local support services.
