Billy Gene Sanders, 80, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on March 19, 1946, in Cumberland County, Billy was the son of Robert Wesley Sanders and Margaret Elizabeth Sanders Hensley. Billy had a deep love for the open road—especially when riding his Harley motorcycle or working on his cherished 1942 vintage truck. He was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and community.

Bill was loved by his brothers and sisters whom he shared lots of meals and laughs with. Bill was a beloved husband, father, and pop pop, who could fix anything.

Billy is survived by his wife, Carol (Burnett) Sanders; his children, Shane Sanders and Lauren Swanson (Ryan); his grandchildren, Marcus Preston Collier and Atticus Zane Collier; his brother, Benny (Vickie) Sanders; his sisters, Rose Mary Steele and Ruth Marie (Dallas) Kerley.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Sanders and Elizabeth Sanders Hensley; stepfather, Riley Hensley; and his sister, Bobbie Sue Sanders-Wright.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Central Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.

The family request donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
