AIRBNB BRINGS MORE THAN $135 MILLION IN TOURISM TAXES TO TENNESSEE

Popular rental company Airbnb is bringing millions to Tennessee through their hosts.

A report says Airbnb has brought more than $425 million in sales and occupancy taxes to the state since 2018, including more than $135 million in 2023 alone.

Since 2018, Airbnb has collected and remitted state and local sales taxes on behalf of hosts in the state. Statewide legislation has also allowed the state to further streamline tourism tax collection by letting platforms collect and remit all applicable local occupancy taxes on behalf of hosts across Tennessee.
