Alene (Gamblin) Loper passed peacefully from this mortal life into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 at the age of 90.

Born to Walter Thomas and Aura (Lane) Gamblin on April 7,1934 in Lawton, Oklahoma, Alene was the youngest of twelve children. Preceded in death by her parents, and ten siblings: Iva Shaw, Ernest Gamblin, Willard Gamblin, Esther Merrow, Alta Lee Gamblin, stillborn twins Bessie and Dessie, Zelma Lusk, half-brother, William Gamblin, and infant half-sister Lily Gamblin. She is survived by one brother, Herbert (Elizabeth) Gamblin of Checotah, OK and sister-in-law, Yvonne Gamblin of Muskogee, OK; children: Lyle Loper of Shelbyville, IN, Angela (Mike) McCoy of Crossville, TN, Ruby (Tom) Hughes of Mascot, TN and Wallace Jr (Lana) Loper of Fairland, IN. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, & other family members. She also leaves behind her loving friend and former husband of 35 years, Wallace G. Loper.

Alene was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved her family and was a fierce protector of all children. She served faithfully in her church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) for many years and in many different capacities. She truly had a servant’s heart, always seeking out the lost and downtrodden and helping in any way that she could.
We know that she is reunited with her family that had gone before, and that we too, will be reunited again.

A private graveside service for the family will be held Monday, March 17th, 2025 at Crossville City Cemetery.
