Alma Dean Haney, age 84 of Knoxville, formerly of the Batley Community in Clinton, flew away to her heavenly home on Monday, March 24, 2025 at University of Tennessee Medical Center.

She was born in Petros on February 13, 1941 to Luther and Mary Daugherty. Alma and her family moved to Oliver Springs at a young age, where she would go on to create a life filled with love and a deep commitment to her faith. A devoted member of Batley Baptist Church for many years, Alma shared her musical talents as church pianist and taught piano lessons to countless students. Her passion for creativity extended beyond music; she found joy in scrapbooking, sewing, and cooking. Her good sense of humor and zest for life brought joy to everyone around her. A woman of unwavering faith, Alma loved God wholeheartedly and lived her life as a testament to her beliefs.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Haney; brother, Litton Daughterty and sister, Lillie Phillips; nephew, Clifford Phillips.

Survivors include her daughter, Deana Haney-Gangwer and husband Jeff; special nephew, Vernon Phillips and wife Wanda; nephews and nieces, Bruce Daugherty and wife Vicky, Patti Stiltner and husband Barry, David Daugherty and wife Laura, Steve Daugherty, Mike Haney and wife Pam, Kathy Ellis, Carol Townley, Vivan Haga, Sue Reed.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home. Her funeral service will begin at 8 pm with Rev. Luke Kidwell officiating. A graveside service will be at Anderson Memorial Gardens on Saturday at 11 am.
