AREA FISHING REPORT – JANUARY 16, 2020

WATTS BAR

Reservoir Conditions: The lake elevation is winter normal. Unstable weather and water levels are keeping the number of anglers down. Tailwater conditions are dangerous.

Bass: Some bass are being caught. Secondary, windward banks are popular with the very windy days we are currently having. The “Tennessee Rig” is the most used bait.

Crappie: Crappie fishing is good when they are located. Minnows or jigs are being used along some bluffs or around docks.

 

DALE HOLLOW

Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is great. The water temperature is 49 degrees and the lake is rising.

Smallmouth Bass: Lots of smallmouth are being caught on crankbaits in colored water in 5-10 feet. Lots of smallmouth are also being caught on the lower end of lake while fishing jigs in 20-30 feet of water on points.

Largemouth Bass: Lots of largemouth are being caught in colored water on spinnerbaits while fishing shallow cover in 5-10 feet of water.

Crappie: A few crappie are being caught on minnows near East Port in 20 feet of water around fallen trees.

 

CENTER HILL

Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is fair. The water temperature is 51 degrees and the lake is falling.

Bass: Several bass are being caught on crankbaits while fishing channel banks in colored water in 5-10 feet of water.

Crappie: A few crappie are being caught on minnows around sunken brush and boat docks in 10-15 feet of water.
