AREA FISHING REPORT – JANUARY 30, 2020
WATTS BAR
Reservoir Conditions: The lake elevation is slightly above winter normal. The water temperature is 48.9 degrees.
Walleye/Sauger: Sauger and walleye are being caught downstream a couple miles from Ft. Loudon Dam. Large jigs or live bait are being used along the bottom.
Crappie: Crappie are being caught in the tailwater and downstream in the lake. Anglers are drifting large secondary areas with jigs or minnows.
Bass: Bass anglers are catching a few fish while using A-Rigs or jerkbaits. Most fish are being caught along rock walls or river flats. A lot of white bass are being caught in the upper river.
DALE HOLLOW
Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is good. The water temperature is 46 degrees and the lake is falling.
Smallmouth Bass: Lots of nice smallmouth are being caught on jigs, swimbaits, float and fly method, and live bait while fishing deeper banks and points in 15-30 feet of water,
Largemouth Bass: Several largemouth are being caught on A-rigs and jigs while fishing secondary points in 5-15 feet of water.
Crappie: A few crappie are being caught near East Port on minnows in sunken brush in 15 feet of water.
CENTER HILL
Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is good. The water temperature is 48 degrees and the lake is falling.
Smallmouth Bass: Lots of smallmouth are being caught on football jigs and swimbaits while fishing points in 5-20 feet of water on the main lake.
Largemouth Bass: Several largemouth are being caught on jigs and A-rigs while fishing secondary points in the creeks in 10-20 feet of water.
Crappie: A few crappie are being caught under docks with minnows in 10 feet of water.
