Arthur W. “A.W.” or “Dub” Davis, age 95, passed away at UT Medical Center on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

A.W. was born February 20, 1927, to the late Jess (Former Chief Deputy of Meigs County Sheriff’s Dept) and Maude Davis, and was a life-long resident of Decatur, TN. He was a kind gentleman who was always smiling and laughing. He was an Army veteran involved in the occupation of Germany and received an Army Occupation Award.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years: Fay, who died March 31, 2022; 2 brothers: Condon and Jay; 4 sisters: Cleo, Stella, Blanche, and Jessie.

Survivors include his younger brother: Victor (Hugh Victor) Davis of Franklin, TN; sister-in-law Betty Jo Coffey of Athens, TN; several nieces, nephews, and other extended families.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 2 p.m. in the Decatur Cemetery with the Hearth Hospice Chaplain, Brent Stewart, officiating.
