AUSTIN DRUMMOND APPEARS IN COURT

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, 28-year-old Austin Drummond appeared virtually in Lake County Courthouse, charged with four counts of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, and abandonment for the shooting deaths of Matthew Wilson, Adrianna Williams, Cortney Rose, and Braydon Williams in Tiptonville, Tennessee, near Reelfoot Lake on July 29. According to a report by WSMV, the state District Attorney is seeking the death penalty for Drummond.

The victims, found on Carrington Road, were the parents, grandmother, and 15-year-old uncle of a seven-month-old girl left unharmed in a Dyer County yard, about 40 miles away. Drummond, who pleaded not guilty through a court-appointed attorney from Covington due to lacking his own counsel, faces the death penalty as announced by the district attorney, resulting in a bond denial.

Following a nearly weeklong manhunt across West Tennessee, Drummond was captured on August 3 in Jackson, Tennessee, behind a vacant pool house, after being spotted on residential security cameras. The search involved multiple agencies, including the FBI, TBI, U.S. Marshal Service, and local sheriff’s departments.

Additionally, three individuals—Dearrah Sanders, Tanaka Brown, and Giovonti Thomas—were charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, with Brown also facing a tampering with evidence charge for allegedly assisting Drummond post-murders.

Drummond’s next court appearance is scheduled for August 14 at 9 a.m., as investigations continue to explore others who may have aided his evasion.
