Barbara Jean (Goodwin) Gussow passed away on November 12, 2023, at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville.

Barbara was born May 30, 1935, in Pleasant Hill. Growing up in Crossville she was involved in many school, religious, and community activities. She graduated from Cumberland County High School where she was a cheerleader. She aspired to be an opera singer and her love of music continued throughout her life with family, church, and missionary work.

She, her husband Stan, and their three children lived in many locations throughout the country and the world. First, at various airports and U.S. air bases, she worked for the FAA, and later after settling in Nashville, she continued her missionary work in the Caribbean. She was a devoted mother and housewife whose steadfast love helped carry her family through life’s troubles.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James Thomas (J.T.) and Genese Goodwin; and her husband: Stanley Gussow.

She is survived by her daughter: Carla Hurwitz (William); daughter: Frances Campbell; son: Mark Gussow; brother: Tommy Goodwin; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A private family service was held at Bilbrey Funeral Home in Crossville.
