BEDBUGS REPORTED FOUND IN BRADLEY COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL CLASSROOM
According to a report by News Channel 9, bed bugs were discovered in a classroom at Bradley Central High School, prompting administrators to close the room for the day, consult a professional exterminator, and notify parents of affected students, according to a statement from Superintendent Dr. Linda Cash.
The exterminator found no evidence of an infestation and could not substantiate a second reported sighting elsewhere in the school. Video footage circulating on social media, sent anonymously to local media, appeared to show bed bugs on a desk chair in the affected classroom, intensifying concerns among parents and students.
Parents like Tabitha Caldwell expressed worry that one day of closure was insufficient, emphasizing how easily bed bugs spread and how difficult they are to eradicate, while Kerry Horner criticized the district for a perceived lack of transparency regarding students’ health.
A student, senior Joseph Horner, described the situation as “disgusting” and unsettling. Despite the concerns, school officials maintained that a thorough inspection revealed no signs of a broader infestation and reaffirmed their commitment to a safe learning environment.
