Benny Joe Flynn, age 82, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away on July 6, 2025. He was born on May 4, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Basil and Ollie Smith Flynn. Benny passed just two weeks before celebrating his 40th wedding anniversary, July 18, with his beloved wife, Anita Gannon Flynn, who survives him. He will be remembered by his family as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. In addition to his wife Anita, he is survived by his children, Benny Flynn Jr., Bonita Flynn, & Calvin Flynn; step-daughters, Crystal Lynn Houser, Angela Grace Houser, Cassandra Naomi Houser, & Tomalena Houser Noble; siblings, Boyce Ottinger, Bonnie Sherrill, Robert Flynn, & Susan Pedigo, brothers-in-law and good friends, Willie Greg Gannon & Jesse Charles Gannon, and grandchildren, Trinity Horst, Matrix & Maddox, and Ian Larson, as well as a host of others and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil & Ollie Flynn; children, Kendra Flynn & Tamara Flynn; and siblings, Boyd Flynn, Patricia Crabtree, William Basil Flynn, & Clarence Everett Gannon. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM, officiated by Boyce Ottinger. Benny will be interred at Woodland Cemetery in Xenia, Ohio, at a later date.
