BEN’S ORIGINAL RICE RECALLED FOR STONES IN RICE

Ben’s Original announced a voluntary recall on October 10, 2025, with the FDA publishing details on October 14, 2025, for a limited number of its Ready Rice products in the United States, including Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown, and Long Grain & Wild varieties, due to the potential presence of small, naturally occurring stones from the rice farm that could pose risks of oral or digestive tract injury if consumed.
The recall affects only specific batch codes with best-by dates in August 2026, such as 533ELGRV22 and 534ALGRV22 for Long Grain White (sold at HEB), 534AMGRV22, 534BMGRV22, and 534DMGRV22 for Whole Grain Brown (at Target and HEB), and 533BMGRV22, 533CLGRV22, and 533CMGRV22 for Long Grain & Wild (at United Markets, HEB, Amazon, and Piggly Wiggly), with batch codes and dates printed on the bottom seal of the package back; these were distributed via Associated Grocers, C&S, and Dot Foods from August through September, potentially reaching additional retailers.
No other Ben’s Original products are impacted, and there have been no reports of injuries or illnesses to date. Consumers are advised not to consume affected items and to contact Ben’s Original Consumer Care at 1-800-548-6253 (available 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST Saturday-Sunday) for returns or questions, reflecting the company’s commitment to transparency and safety.
