Bertha Elizabeth Haynes, age 85, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at NHC Healthcare.

She was a daughter of the late Dart “D.W.” and Millie Miller Wilson. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Smyrna, TN and enjoyed listening to audio books, listening to gospel music, traveling and talking to her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her son: Roy Edward “Eddie” O’Daniel; first husband: Lawrence Green; second husband: Tucker Haynes; sisters: Erna Wilson, Belle Brown, Sally Goforth, Ollie Howard, Sara Jane Porter and Willie Kennedy, Artie Sewell; brothers: Buddy Wilson, Robert Wilson, and Clyde Wilson.

Survivors include her son: Danny F. (Linda) O’Daniel of Cleveland, TN; grandchild: Elesha (Jeff) Ledford of McDonald, TN, Melissa (Charlie) Miller of Decatur, Laura (Dave) Albertson of Athens; great grandchildren: Dixie Martin, Dylan Martin, Austin Miller, Lillie Miller; great great grandchildren: Alayiah Marie; sister: Mary Layman; several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Jerry Plaster fficiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Michael Lawson, Marty Lawson, Dylan Martin, Austin Miller, Dave Albertson, and Jimmy Lawson will serve as pallbearers.

The Family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
